Hey everyone! Connor and I have been soaking in all sorts of new adventures here in Colorado. Our bodies are adjusting well to the new altitude and climate, we have only taken one nap since we arrived last week. Pretty good! So we decided that we were probably okay to start hiking and doing some fun activities. Our first one? Rock Park, also called Castle Rock — the monument in which the city of Castle Rock is named after. It is a short hike to the base of the rock, which is on the top of a hill. Then, since there is no longer a city-made path to the top of the rock, people climb and maneuver and shimmy their way to the top. And that is exactly what we did.
I thought the colors and textures of the rocks and their massive size was absolutely amazing. Connor was totally impressed that I could climb with this old woman body of mine and asthma. At an elevation of 6,000+ feet, I was pretty impressed with myself, too! If I keep this up, I might need to invest in some hiking boots and shoes rather than wearing my Toms. Sheesh.
